Shown west of Lowell, MI, Grand Rapids Eastern 5106 and train are returning to Grand Rapids with loads from American Bumper in Ionia. Built in August, 1970, the 5106 is ex B&O 4806, CSX 2106 and was the sole power for the line at the time. Operating on former GTW trackage, the automobile bumper plant in Ionia eventually closed and the eastern fifteen miles, (Lowell-Ionia) were abandoned.
