Passenger operator PRASA (Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa) operates long distance services under the "Shosholoza Meyl" brand (Shosholoza Meyl = a pleasant journey). The agency has decided to withdraw it's once weekly "Daylight" service between Johannesburg and Durban, as from 1st April 2014. Here the second to last "Daylight" is crossing the Suikerbosrant (sugar bush ridge) river, between Spruytsrus and Fortuna, behind a pair of 18E's wearing the light blue PRASA livery. At this point the river forms the provincial boundary between Gauteng and Mpumalanga - the locomotives have crossed into Mpumalanga, while the rest of the train is still in Gauteng. The retaining wall below the locomotives is part of the old track alignment, with a bridge abutment visible across the river, to the right of the power pylon.
