New Territory: Five or six years ago the future of CN's Newmarket Sub north of Washago looked dim with the company having announced its intentions of ceasing operations. Although we were saddened by the discontinuance of the ONR's Northlander train service which used this line for part of its run, CN's freight operations have continued unscathed. One freight each direction daily with transfer traffic to (and from) Ontario Northland, and evidence of CN throwing a lot of money into upkeep/upgrades along the twisty line are indications the Newmarket won't be going anywhere anytime soon. Now the local (CN 595), which operates 5 days a week, has picked up a new customer, Cambium Forest Products up in South River, 50-odd miles north of its home base in Huntsville. Unfortunately operations on their newly refurbished siding aren't readily accessible for photography so I had to settle for a shot of 4132 just a bit south of there, returning light to Huntsville after dropping off two loaded center-beams.
