Operating in combination with the 2014 National Train Day events out of Rutland, Vermont on May 10, the Vermont Rail System launched their 2014 50th Anniversary excursion schedule with trips operating to Florence, Vermont behind the 50th Anniversary-painted GP40-2W 311. Operating with locos on each end, the passenger special is seen departing Rutland with a burst of sunshine amid mostly cloudy skies.
