| A pair of 5000 horsepower EMD DD35 units are serviced and await a call out of Provo Yard on June 10, 1977. The Union Pacific rostered a total of 15 DD35A units and 27 DD35 (cabless) units. The UP 73 was built by EMD in May 1965 and retired in Aug. 1981. The UP 73B was built in Sept. 1963 as EMD demonstrator 5655, purchased by the UP in May 1964 and retired in April 1980. |
