    Remarks & Notes
It is October 1981, in less than 6 months, the ferries would stop traversing Lake Michigan, and the end of this line would be set, but, prior to this, 4 Ann Arbor units pound the AA-C&O diamond in Thompsonville, MI. The C&O line that they are crossing is the former Manistee - Traverse City line that would soon close as well and portions of it would be operated by future contract operator TSBY. But, for now, let's enjoy what was, as this eastbound from the boat landing makes its way across the most beautiful line in the State of Michigan. This line from this point north to Frankfort is now the Betsie Valley Rail Trail. 35mm slide from my collection, photo by Bill Clynes.
