The Diesel That Did It- In a scene that could have just as easily come from 1939 as 2014, General Motors FT-A #103-A sits under the water column at the Southern Railway's Spencer, NC steam shop. It is documented that this locomotive was tested by the Southern Railway and was serviced at the Spencer shops.
