    Remarks & Notes
The Mojave Northern Railroad was built in 1914 to connect Victorville, California, to a cement quarry at Bell Mountain. The MNRR was, at the time of this photo, owned by Southwest Portland Cement Company (it is now owned by Cemex). The Fairbanks-Morse diesels were lettered for SWPC, but this old cross buck, still wearing MNRR markings, was still standing at the Bell Mountain Road grade crossing on the line out to the quarry in November 1972.
