| G988-22 passes beneath the ACL-era searchlight signal bridge at Rock Quarry Road. This is one of the last(if not the last) intermediate signal in NC that has a signal bridge equipped with searchlights. Following an emergency brake application at YD, the crew found the brake valve on the lead unit unfit to be a leader. The engineer was running this train from the second unit and the conductor was in the leader blowing the horn. They would tie the train down at Elm City and run light back to Rocky Mount to turn the power. |
