CSX local job A742 is seen as it steps onto the A&WP Belt Line in the West End district of Atlanta, Georgia. The Belt Line departs NS's former Central of Georgia Macon, Ga. mainline at Oakland Junction, today this route is known as NS's Griffin District of the Georgia Division. The Belt once connected the Atlanta & West Point's mainline to it's sister route, the Georgia Railroad at Hulsey Yard. This scene which was a weekly occurrence is now all in the history books along with the B30-7s which held these jobs down, the Williams Brothers cement plant at the end of the current day Belt Line no longer receives rail traffic after the downturn in the economy several years ago. -slide scan
