| An NJ Transit commuter train waits on the North Runner adjacent to Sunnyside Yard in between runs on the Northeast Corridor. The area at left once contained a Long Island Railroad freight yard and is now being redeveloped as part of the MTA/Long Island Railroad East Side Access project. This new extension will allow the LIRR to access Grand Central Terminal from Sunnyside. |
