Remarks & Notes

In 2001 KCR introduced a new train for East Rail, built by Kinki Sharyo in Japan. After the merger with MTR, MTR decided to replace the existing train on East Rail Line. These eight 12-car trains have reformed into 8-car formations and reallocated to West Rail Line and Ma On Shan Line.
