On a crystal clear October afternoon, a pair of IAIS GP38-2's lead a southbound freightless BUSW-11 down the Peoria Subdivision with an assortment of five former BNSF EMD's for the Norfolk Southern dead-in-tow. Five units, three ex-BN SD60M's, one ex-BNSF SD75I and one ex-ATSF SD75M, all from the NREX (National Railway Equipment) facility storage tracks in Silvis, IL are on their way to East Peoria, IL for interchange with the NS. From there, the units will head east all the way to the Altoona, PA Juniata Locomotive Shops where they will be rebuilt into the railroad's growing fleet of SD60M and 70M locomotives.
