As a thick layer of overcast and dense fog move in across the sleeping City of Atlanta, Georgia during the early morning hours of October 13,2014, Norfolk Southern train 174 looks on from NS's Atlanta South District of the Georgia Division. 174 along with a 53W, an empty grain train standing in the next block north of the Spring Interlocking continues the waiting game. Just ahead in this view was the location of the City's once grand Terminal Station which was demolished in 1972. Terminal Station opened in 1905 and during the bustling 1920s, it was rumored Terminal served up to 86 trains per day. All that remains today is 200' of platform that is occasionally used for NS business themes along with the South Terminal interlocking tower.
