In the early afternoon of a hot August day, two ex-Milwaukee GP9's lead the STMA Branch Train northward with 50 log loads just a few miles north of the Clarkia, Idaho reload. The logs are being taken to the Potlatch mill in St. Maries. Less than a year later, log train operations would end for good, and the entire ex-Milwaukee logcar fleet would be scrapped soon after.
