| NS 4148 is one of two ex N&W GP38ACs remaining in active service to help with the carrier's motive power crunch and is seen in Chamblee, Ga. awaiting it's next Piedmont Division local assignment. Three units from this class were reactivated in 2010, the count currently stands with the 4148 and 4150. 4144 is stored in Altoona. The 4148 is 42 years old this month and is in a very small group of six non dash 2 units left in revenue service. |
