BNSF's Fontana (Kaiser) to Barstow local passes through the "moonscape" at the northern end of Victorville, California, on November 6th, 2014. A pair of GE ES44DC diesels (7772 and 7731) lead the way, with two Refrigerated Liquid Methane (RLM) powered SD70ACe diesels, 9130 and 9131, completing the lashup. Between the two RLM units is BNSF RLM tender 933501, and behind them is BNSF's research and test car 82, the Kootenai River, measuring the effectiveness of the use of RLM for locomotives.
