Union Pacific's $8.5 million track inspection vehicle makes its way on to The J at JB Tower. It will run down the CN to Joliet where it will get back on home rails and test the old SPCSL. The car is 90ft long and can measure track geometry at speeds up to 70mph. It uses GPS to record and report defects on the track surface and level, rail wear and tunnel measurements. UP has another similar vehicle, EC-4.
From a hint of "Bee" (NKP 765), colorful "Bees" (KCS), "Bees" w/ "attitude", to "Bees" that "sting" your eyes, in their own way they have "Bee" on display! Equipment that "Buzzes" with Yellow & Black colors! ("Bees" can still "Bee" entering this "hive"!)
