Tough winter day on the Kyle—26 A westbound Kyle plow extra derailed on a icy crossing at Kanorado, Kansas, on January 2, 2007, and fortunately no one was injured in the mishap. In this view not long after the derailment, Kyle railroaders remove the engine crew’s grips and personal items from leaning lead SD45T-2 No. 9282. In the next day or so, the locomotives will be rerailed and track repaired. Wrecked plow MWK 06 didn’t fair so well. It was simply left there for the winter, finally cut up for scrap after languishing there for a couple years.
