In 1994, Mountain Top, Pennsylvania's Morrison-Knudsen plant was releasing rebuilt units as SD40M-2s for the Southern Pacific Railroad. On September 1, Conrail train ALHB-2B has fresh SP 8600, 8601 and 8655 leading Conrail GP38-2 8231 as it prepares to set out BN Airslide hoppers for the Hershey chocolate plant. From my Kodachrome 64 slide.
