| Northern Explorer passes through Papatoetoe bound for Wellington which will be reached in about 10 hours. The train was built by Hillside Enginering in Dunedin and won a design award. In the distance is One Tree Hill, one of many volcanoes dotting Auckland. It was immortalized in song by band U2 before the distinctive tree fell victim to Maori activism. |
