        Remarks & Notes
MILW 136 and a sister SD40-2 serve as helper units stationed at Kittitas, Wash. in August 1978. they help handle trains east over the Saddle Mountains to Beverly and west again. The westbound grade from Beverly out of the Columbia River valley is the ruling grade of the Milwaukee Road in Washington, steeper than the climb to Snoqualmie Pass for westbound trains.
