The D&RGW has added a dome of its own (which came from the C&O) and with five F units, Train 17 California Zephyr leaves Denver Union Terminal headed through the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The train will be handed over to the Western Pacific at Salt Lake City for continuing on to California. Aug. 7, 1968, a year and a half before the CZ was discontinued.
