Barriles is a station-yard in the middle of line Maria Elena - Tocopilla (SQM railway), electric locomotives GE BoxCab and SQM empty nitrate train arriving at Barriles and change to diesel traction and departure to Maria Elena, with GE U20C locomotive, former South African Class 33.4/ then ALL Brasil, and rebuilt in Chile by Casagrande Motori (CGM) in San Bernardo, Chile.
