    Remarks & Notes
Santa Fe’s Super Chief-El Capitan Train 18 eastbound rounds a high-speed banked curve at Dalies, N.M. as it passes a westbound freight on the double track mainline. This was the era of no ditch lights, jointed rails and unprotected autos in transit. Note also the Pullman Standard dome car, one of 6 build for the Santa Fe in 1950.

The Santa Fe's warbonnet paint scheme on passenger diesel locomotives was one of the most iconic in railroading. It appealed to travelers and modellers alike, and helped brand Santa Fe all the way from Chicago to California and Texas.

Freight Cowls are standard locomotives that have a hood that extends the full width of the locomotive. Sadly, most Freight Cowls have been retired, but a few still run on short lines.
