Many people don't know that Utah Railway painted a locomotive in Bicentennial colors. Alco RSD-4 No. 304 was repainted at the Martin Locomotive Shop in solid white (in lieu of gray) with blue hood numbers and separation striping (in lieu of red and yellow) along the horizontal band of red. The differences were subtle, but Bicentennial just the same. Spotted between runs at Provo Yard on Aug. 22, 1976, seven weeks after the America's 200th birthday celebration.
