| Conrail ME-2 heads west with three loads for Deans, NJ on the Northeast Corridor, passing through Metuchen Station. The "fog" above the consist is a mix of blowing snow and exhaust as the GP38-2 has just been "opened up" by the engineer after an extended period of idling. ME-2 originates in the nearby Metuchen Yard and is running a bit later than usual on this day, perhaps due to an overnight snow storm. ME-2 enters the NEC at the west end of Lincoln Interlocking but must run east to this location to cross over from track 1 to track 2 for the westbound move. |
