| Conrail OI-16 seems a bit overpowered with three units (including two former Erie Lackawanna SD45-2s) and 11 cars as it approaches NJ Transit's Perth Amboy Station. The train is running in a cut below the streets of Perth Amboy on NJT's North Jersey Coast Line. OI-16 operates on a roughly two mile segment of the Coast Line between Wood and Essay Interlockings. The train is enroute from Oak Island Yard to Browns Yard but will not make it much father that the Raritan River bridge on this day. Switch trouble at Essay would not allow the train to reach Conrail's Amboy Secondary, and the crew would be forced to shove back to "home rails" on the Garden State Secondary. |
