Can you spot the kangaroo? DAZ 1905 is one of five DA Class Clyde / EMD G26C locomotives (others are DAZ 1902 / DAZ 1904 / DAZ 1903 / DAZ 1906) still in Durban at the moment along with four 422 Class Clyde / EMD J26C (Standard Gauge), as well as a few container flat wagons. They were part of a total of 23 locomotives of various Class / Types (all diesel), that arrived in Durban, South Africa, from Fremantle in Western Australia aboard the “Fairlift” on the 26th January 2015. It is believed that the container flats and the five DA Class locomotives will be reloaded onto another ship soon – destination possibly another African country?
Photos taken in the Durban area, from the PRASA / Metrorail yards just North of Durban Station to Rossburgh Station including the Bayhead yards and along the Esplanade, Maydon Wharf and around Durban Harbour.
