And now, a different view and consist with a locomotive I have shot and ridden behind more times than I can count: CNRY GP7 55, formerly I&O 55 and C&O 5704. As some know, I work for the Cincinnati Railway, so I had a heads up on this. Normally 55 spends most of the year on the CNRY's LM&M Railroad operation in Lebanon, but occasionally will be called down to Cincinnati for other duties on the Cincinnati Railway. Such is the case right now, as the normal locomotive for our Cincinnati Dinner Train, NKP GP30 901, has gone down for repairs. The LM&M doesn't have any runs on the schedule until later in the month, so 55 got the call to come south and help out. Here she is seen with the CDT consist from the hillside above the I&O Oasis Subdivision at the Kennedy Connector Overpass in Madisonville on the afternoon of April 11, 2015. I took this photo about 10 minutes before reporting to work on the same train, with my mom & dad aboard as passengers celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary! The white extra flags are a neat added touch.
