BN 5499, one of only three B32-8s on the railroad rolls up to the signal at Edmonds, WA. The Great Northern double tracked most of its mainline between Seattle and Everett, but left three short single track segments including one just south of this point in Edmonds down to Richmond Beach. Sound Transit has helped fund eliminating these segments, but as of this date, the Edmonds-Richmond Beach segment has not been completed. Testing of the three GEs led to the leasing of BN's 100 unit LMX fleet of Dash 8-40Bs.
