UP’s subsidiary Spokane International’s Alco RS-1 with the funky additional headlight was assigned to yard duties at Topeka, Kansas and was shut down on its Sunday rest day behind the station, Jan. 29, 1966. Three years later the 1000-hp unit would be traded in to EMD.
