An F and an E bring SP’s westbound Train 1, “Sunset Limited,” to a passenger stop at Lake Charles, La. in the evening sunshine on Jan. 7, 1970 when the days were short. Unless they get swapped out en route, the FP7 and companion E9 have 1778 more miles before reaching Los Angeles.
