Climax! Perhaps 100 yards north of Milepost 92, the 55-ton Moore-Keppel Climax #3 hauls a short cut of freight cars through an open meadow, on the way to Durbin, WV. Built in 1910 by the Climax Locomotive Works in Corry, PA, this little 2-Trucker spent nearly all of its working life hauling trains in the eastern hills of West Virginia. After her "retirement", she spent some time at the Connecticut Trolley Museum, where she was restored and ran only intermittently. In the early 2000s, that museum decided to divest itself of all non-electric equipment, and the engine was sold to the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad, where she runs today.....back home in the eastern hills of West Virginia!
