Almost lost in its own pristine bathtub in the Valhalla Mountains of British Columbia, Canadian Pacific’s local from Nelson to Slocan City continued once a week on a barge for 20 miles in 2 and half hours, and then continued on to Nakusp for another 31 miles. The train would return on the barge two days later. Photo June 11, 1975. This marine service was discontinued on Dec. 21, 1988.
