| CN 2973 leads an empty coal train up the 3% grade of the luscar Industrial Lead. Despite being only 50 empty cars the locomotives could be heard working hard on their 4 mile climb up the grade. The lush green in this area is reclamation from earlier mining activity and the mountainsides attract Bighorn Sheep and Elk. Many locals come here to watch the animals. The elk and sheep also attract large Grizzlies that feed on the grazing animals. If you are in the area be careful, the Grizzly population is very high. |
