| GBRf class 66 no.66752 'The Hoosier State' provides an interesting 'what if' view, showing what it may have looked liked had the diversionary route via Farnham and Alton to Winchester from the South Western main line remained opened as it approaches Alresford London bound.
The photograph in actual fact depicts the 'Alpine Sunbeam' railtour which visited the Mid Hants Railway and Ardingly stone terminal. 66752 is seen here leaving the head shunt at Alresford on the Mid Hants Railway in preparation to work 1Z83 12:22 Alton to Ardingly leg of the railtour on 6th June 2015. Class 73's no.73136 & 73128 were on the rear of the train. |
