| This SD class driving car is about to trail a Swanson service out of Auckland's underground Britomart station. These are form British Rail MkII passenger cars, converted for push-pull use on the Auckland suburban network. A DC class diesel loco is at the other end of the set, while the SD car is fitted with a generator to provide head-end power. This was the last week of diesel suburban working in Auckland, with EMU's taking over all services from the following Monday. |
