Southern Pacific assigned two brand new AC4400CWs to power a 126 car RODVM on July 24, 1995. It was a test to see if the power could climb the steep grades from Castilla to Soldier Summit without a helper. The SP 275 and 281 did make it to the top without stalling, but it was a very slow journey.
