Many are lamenting the "loss" of the D&H as NS purchases much of the line from the CP. To me, the D&H was lost a long time ago. A classic, late D&H, 3 builder lashup, in 3 paint scheme variatons, leads a Westbound on Richmondville Hill at West Richmondville, NY. Long gone are the days of hanging out on D&H properties, where friendly employees greeted you and you could roam around freely. Maybe the D&H wasn't meant to be around in these "modern" times.
