    Remarks & Notes
The folks in the mobile home, lower right, must be getting an earful as Santa Fe 3504 leads another GE and one of Santa Fe’s home-rebuilt CF7s on a southbound freight through one of the still-rural corners of Dallas on a hot July evening in1978. Santa Fe’s experience with three-axle GE power – ten U28CGs and a half-dozen U30CGs, all geared for passenger service – was not good in 1969 when the road turned to that builder again, for an order for 25 U33Cs for freight service. ThIrd time proved a charm, however, as the 3300-HP units gave good service for a decade and a half.
