| A cogwheel train exits a snowshed a minute before reaching the endpoint of the line, below the summit of the Wendelstein (1838m or 6030 ft). The Wendelstein offers spectacular views of the Bavarian and Austrian Alps. It is just 70km (miles) from Munich and pretty crowded on sunny days, thanks to easy access by the cogwheel train (and an aerial tramway on the other side of the mountain). |
