      Remarks & Notes
Movie-star 1223 is partially disguised as the New York Central & Hudson River No. 15 in this slide scanned from the collection of the late Hen Westenberger. The locomotive was used in the opening scene of 20th Century Fox's 1969 production of "Hello Dolly," starring Barbra Streisand and Walter Matthau. It also appeared in the film's musical number, "Put On Your Sunday Clothes." The 1223 was built in November, 1905 by the Juniata Shops and ran on the Strasburg Rail Road from 1965 to 1989. It resides today inside the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania at Strasburg.
