The newest addition to Cass’ roster, Western Maryland 150-ton three-truck Shay #6, simmers near the coal dock, while 80-ton three-truck Shay #3 switches equipment. The big 6, which was recently acquired from the B&O museum in Baltimore, is still at Cass, while number 3 has since moved cross-country to the City of Prineville, Oregon. The abandoned mill of the Mower Lumber Company can be seen in the background. The following year, the mill was destroyed by fire.
