Changes are in the offing for Conrail's Columbia Branch, as a westbound freight waits on a crew at Spring Street. Before too long, the catenary system will be removed, and the old PRR jointed-rail double-track will be replaced with a single-track of welded rail. No. 2245 was built by EMD for the PRR in May, 1963.
