Battling up the steep grade along the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, a trio of Union Pacific locomotives rumble through the ski resort town of Truckee pulling a high priority intermodal train, bound for Lathrop, CA, over the famous Donner Pass. Just a few days before, a snow stormed hammered the region to leave fresh powder for the new year.
