Back in May 1988, San Diego held a Railfair. Along with much of the collection from nearby Pacific Southwest Railway Museum, the event also included a pair of diesels from the California State Railroad Museum's collection, which traveled south from Sacramento for the festivities. Santa Fe F7A 347C (ex-ATSF 306C, originally ATSF 39C) - along with companion F7B 306B - and Southern Pacific E9A 6051 were freshly scrubbed and nearly glowed in the bright San Diego sunshine.
