| NS U 40 rolls very slowly down the steep grade, leaving a huge cloud of brake smoke, from the "divide" which is the top of the ridge splitting Lee and Wise Counties with 70 coal loads from Benedict in Saint Charles. 60 of these loads will proceed on to Eastman Chemical Co. in Kingsport and 10 of the loads will wait for tomorrow's 386 to Knoxville as those loads are going to Alabama for some unknown special purpose. |
