Train 686 notches up to make the short but heavy grade out of the Zumbro River Valley east of Rochester, MN, also known as Haver Hill. It was a true surprise to see a pack of three RCP&E SD40-2's on the Waseca sub again as RCP&E put a stop to run through power on the CP east of Waseca. The crews original plan was to swap power with a west train earlier in the day but that didn't go as planned.
