      Remarks & Notes
The NS (Central of Georgia) turn to Lafayette (Trains 7/8 in pre-CSX days) used about two miles of rights over the CSX (Western Railway of Alabama) between Opelika and Roanoke Junction. Here, #7 passes a still-active CSX lineside phone box as it nears downtown and home rails. Looks like a few sticks of wood on the first car have shifted (a constant issue with loads like this) and are going to need a little massaging.
